Name: Rahima Wahidi
Home country: Afghanistan
Study Area: Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of International Relations
I finished the law component of my degree in 2016. I am currently completing my International Relations degree while simultaneously working at the Northern Community Legal Service as a Community Legal Education Officer. I have just enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the College of Law.
I completed high school in 2012 and started my university life at Adelaide University studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science. After studying psychology for a year I realised it wasn’t for me and decided to transfer to a Bachelor of Laws at the University of South Australia. I consciously decided to transfer on the basis that the law degree at UniSA is more practical and I could get more hands on experience at mooting, witness examination and negotiation.
I have been involved in various activities at the University of South Australia including:
- Business Mentoring Program
- Career Mentoring Program
- Your Culture My Culture
Early in 2016 I travelled to Europe and did an elective (Human Rights and International Law) at Masaryk University, located in Brno, Czech Republic. In 2016 I was also elected as the President of the Afghan Students Association at UniSA and was also the Marketing Officer for the Bright Futures Society.
